Gender and party politics

Indexed incrossref

Abstract

This chapter derives from my research into the organisational communication and identity of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in Taiwan. Part of that research examined the gendered dimensions of the DPP because, as a feminist, I believe that failure to incorporate gendered dimensions into research permits the assumption that phenomena affect organisations and individuals in genderneutral ways. As a feminist scholar, I cannot permit the assumption that theories, research and reality are gender-neutral.
