Green infrastructure: smart conservation for the 21st century.

Abstract

Green refers to the network of wildlife habitat, open space, woodlands, parks and other areas of nature that sustains clean water, air and natural resources and enhances quality of life. This paper discusses green infrastructure as a strategic method of conserving land that is significant to smart growth success. The paper expands on the concept of green infrastructure and details seven principles and strategies for achieving it successfully.
