ISBN: 0-195-13553-9 The most frequent question I've been asked by colleagues and students about Kenneth Rothman's new book 1 is whether this is “an introduction to Modern Epidemiology”2 (Rothman's now-standard reference, coauthored with Sander Greenland in its second edition). The fact that no one has asked why Rothman would add yet another text to an increasingly crowded field reflects the respect Rothman commands.
