CONTEXT: Although it has been hypothesized that hypertension is in part an inflammatory disorder, clinical data linking inflammation with incident hypertension are scarce. OBJECTIVE: To examine whether C-reactive protein levels, a marker of systemic inflammation, are associated with incident hypertension.
