A Pressure Iteration Scheme for Two-Phase Flow Modeling

Abstract
A stable semi-implicit numerical scheme is &vel@ for solving nonequilibrium, nonhomogeneous two-phase flaw problems. The basic %-fluid, six-equation d e l which contains the interfacial mass, mentum, and heat transfer is solved by a M i f i e d IMF technique. During the pressure iteration l a p , the changes in pressures as well as the void fractions are computed simultaneously using t h e mass and the mxentum equations of both phases. It is found that by coupling the calculation of the pressure with the void fraction within the same i terat ion step, the numerical integration of the basic par t ia l d i f fe ren t ia l equations is very stable.
