Abstract

Abstract The European Agency for Fundamental Rights occupies a unique and important position within the political and organisational structure of the European Union. This chapter provides a valuable counterpoint to the previous chapter in positioning this research body within the political and organisational structure of the EUs internal human rights politics and practice. The account develops an account of the FRAs’ dual role of providing objective, reliable and comparative data that will be capable of informing evidence based policies, and , of establishing networks of communication that will enable the results to shape policies.
