Stability and Performance Studies of Driver-Vehicle Systems with Electronic Chassis Control

Abstract
A classical two-level preview type driver model with a 6-DOF vehicle model is presented in this paper within the framework of driver-vehicle system approach. The model provides a firm basis for analysing vehicle handling dynamics. The paper aims to provide performance analysis of driver-vehicle system with ABS control and to explore the effects of active chassis intervention systems on the driver-vehicle interaction. Generic mathematical models of vehicle and driver are implemented. The time domain simulations in combined cornering and hard braking manoeuvre are studied through numerical simulations.
