Abstract
A nonpolar/polar composite comprising tungsten sulfide nanosheets on carbon nanofibers (CNFs) is used for the cathode in lithium–sulfur batteries. These batteries demonstrate an ultra-long cycle life of 1500 cycles at a charge/discharge rate of 2 C, and they maintain about 90% specific capacity with a high specific capacity of 502 mA h g−1. These batteries present a significant performance improvement in the field of Li–S batteries.
