RMark : an R Interface for analysis of capture-recapture data with MARK

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Abstract

RMark provides a formula-based interface for analysis of capture-recapture data with the program MARK. RMark reduces the development time of models and removes the potential for errors introduced from manual creation of design matrices in MARK. By providing an interface to MARK in R, all of the tools in R can be accessed to extract and manipulate data, plot or simulate. It also provides the potential to include MARK analysis in a reproducible document with Sweave and LTEX. I demonstrate RMark using the commonly analyzed European dipper data.
