Abstract

Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures gives the latest consensus requirements for dead, live, soil, flood, wind, snow, rain, ice, and earthquake loads, as well as their combinations, which are suitable for inclusion in building codes and other documents. This standard, a revision of ASCE/SEI 7-98, includes significant changes to the following sections: general provisions, load combinations, live loads, flood loads, wind loads, snow loads, earthquake loads, and atmospheric ice loads. The earthquake load provisions in Standard ASCE/SEI 7-02 are substantially adopted by reference in the 2003 International Building Code and the 2002 NFPA 5000 Building Construction and Safety Code.
