There are also superb discussions of transition from residency training to active practice and of adaptation to military service. A bonus is de¬ lightful chapter by Mrs. Moser which offers a remarkably discerning but loving look at the good doctor. This vaguely discomfiting and deflating contribution is almost worth price of entire book.
