Qualitative Research

Abstract Qualitative research analyzes data from direct fieldwork observations, in‐depth, open‐ended interviews, and written documents. Qualitative researchers engage in naturalistic inquiry, studying real‐world settings inductively to generate rich narrative descriptions and construct case studies. Inductive analysis across cases yields patterns and themes, the fruit of qualitative research.
