Abstract

The forearm fasciocutaneous flap is based on the radial artery. The recipient arteries are most commonly the facial artery or superior thyroid artery, and the recipient veins are branches of the internal jugular, external jugular, or anterior jugular veins. The flap is dissected deep to the deep fascia of the volar aspect of the arm, and the subcutaneous veins and radial artery are elevated with the flap. After the flap is removed from the donor site, the radial artery is repaired with an interpositional vein graft and the donor defect is closed with a skin graft.
