Abstract
Linguistics of the Tibeto-Burman Area is a peer-reviewed (refereed) journal devoted to the synchronic and diachronic study of the languages of mainland Southeast Asia, the Indo-Burma region, the Tibetan Plateau and the Himalayas, with a special focus on the vast and ramified Tibeto-Burman family. In addition to Tibeto-Burman, articles have appeared on languages belonging to all the major linguistic families of this great expanse of Asia, including Austroasiatic, Hmong-Mien, Indo-Aryan and Tai-Kadai. LTBA was founded in 1974 and has been in continuous publication ever since, attracting contributions from many of the leading scholars in the field.
