De-biased SMOS SSS L3 V10 maps generated by LOCEAN/ACRI-ST Expertise Center

This tenth version of Level 3 SMOS SSS covers the period January 2010-December 2024. A correction of SMOS SSS from systematic biases uses an improved ‘de-biasing’ technique, similar to the one used to produce version 8 and 9, but an additional bias correction related to the sun emission has been taken into account. As a result, the SSS interannual variability is better reproduced in the northern hemisphere. Validation reports of the product compared to various sources of in situ measurements are available at PIMEP (https://www.salinity-pimep.org).
