Advances of composite materials in automobile applications – A review

Abstract
This paper emphasizes the benefits of using composite materials in manufacturing automobile components instead of conventional metal. Some unknown and unorganized information on the multifunctional phenomena of composite materials is guided by relevance for manufacturing. Researchers enhance the variation of composites to achieve better performance in every sector as well as the vehicle industry. Due to high durability, strength, lightweight, and corrosion tolerance, ballistic performance composites are used. Some other features, like fire and lightning protection behaviour, can be imposed within a very easy and economical fabrication process.
