Abstract
Abstract This book was written by working physicists for students and teachers of physics faculties of universities. It is based on the authors’ many years (140+ in total) of experience delivering lectures and seminars at the Faculty of Physics at Novosibirsk State University. The authors present analytical mechanics as the first part in the study of theoretical physics. Its methods and ideas are crucially important, as they form the basis of all other branches of theoretical physics, including quantum mechanics, statistical physics, and field theory.
