Abstract
• The features of various Fe-based bimetallic catalysts were comprehensively discussed. • The mechanisms of Fe-based bimetallic catalysts activating PMS/PDS were reviewed. • The workflows of reactive oxygen species (ROSs) identification were clarified in detail. • The calculation models of ROSs contribution rates were thoroughly organized. • The degradation pathways and toxicity assessment of antibiotics were presented. Antibiotic residues have been widely discovered in different types of water bodies, posing a critical risk to the water ecosystem and human health.
