Giant Left Atrial Myxoma Revealed by Neurological Manifestation in a Young Female Patient

Abstract

Cardiac myxoma is a prevalent benign neoplasm that arises inside the cardiac tissue and exhibits a gradual growth pattern. The annual incidence rate of cardiac myxoma is approximately 0.5–1 cases per 1,000,000 persons. The fragmentation of a cardiac tumor may be influenced by cerebrovascular events. Ischemic stroke is a relatively infrequent occurrence in pediatric populations and can occasionally be attributed to cardiac myxoma. In instances of ischemic stroke, neurological impairments are observed as a result of emboli or thrombi originating from the myxoma.
