Abstract
Trate how economic history is not the same as the history of an economy, and how an economic perspective involves more than an interest in some eco nomic topic.Scholarship on China has excelled in studying the economy of China, but has barely begun to do so with a true economic perspective.The fundamental objective of this volume is to delineate and illustrate the poten tial contribution of systematically applying an economic approach to the study of China's economic history.
