Abstract
• Floods and droughts can co-occur, influencing each other occurrence and impacts. • However, floods and droughts are usually studied separately. • Lack of research on flood-drought connection, especially in cities. • A new multi-hazard framework is proposed for analyzing their interactions. Climate change impacts global weather patterns, leading to more frequent and intense extreme weather events. Floods and droughts are the primary hazards caused by climate change, for the number of events, people affected, and global economic impacts.
