Abstract
Abstract Dielectric resonator (DR) antenna (DRA) has been studied for decades, for its compact size, various radiation modes and radiation patterns, high efficiency, high design flexibility, and so on. As a fabrication‐friendly shape, cylindrical DRA is investigated in this chapter. To begin, the fundamentals of cylindrical DRA have been introduced first, including its mode nomenclature, resonant frequency calculation, field distribution, and various excitation methods. Especially, two kinds of planar feeding methods for exciting TM modes of a cylindrical DRA were developed recently and introduced.
