Abstract

• Baicalin strengthened the antitumor immune activity of activated PBMCs to OSCC in co-culture system. • Baicalin repressed the lactate accumulation, acidification and m 6 A modification of OSCC cells. • Baicalin targeted LDHA via m 6 A-IGF2BP3-dependent manner to reduce lactate accumulation. • Baicalin attenuates lactate-induced acidification to reduce OSCC immune escape in tumor microenvironment. The acidic microenvironment caused by excessive lactate accumulation could inhibit immune lymphocytes antitumor activity and promote the immune escape of tumor cells.
