Abstract
• Cadmium (Cd) is commonly found in water, air, and soil. • Epidemiological evidence suggests a link between cadmium exposure and several cancers; breast, lung, prostate, nasopharynx, pancreas, kidney, etc. • Prolonged exposure to cadmium results in renal tubular dysfunction. • Cadmium (Cd) toxicity profoundly affects cardiac health, manifesting significant biochemical and physiological changes. • Excessive exposure to cadmium is significantly associated with lung damage.
