Abstract
• Production of electricity/hydrogen from combined offshore wind with floating PV plant. • New dung beetle optimization (DBO) algorithm of the hybrid system was developed. • Detailed statistical analysis was conducted to confirm robustness of DBO algorithm. • Cost of hydrogen for the hybrid system was promising and estimated at 1.205$ /kg. • Southern Red Sea offshore renewables hold great promise for green hydrogen and power.
