Abstract

The study investigates the combined effects of material selection, manufacturing constraints, and a dynamic stress constraint function on the resulting material distribution achieved through a structural optimization process, while ensuring full compliance with the relevant European assessment standards for railway bogie. A high-fidelity finite element model of the complete bogie system was developed to accurately reproduce the operational loads and the structural interactions between the motor support and its surrounding components.
