Breaking the Energy Linear Relationships between C≡C and C═C Bonds over Porous Intermetallic Pd 2 Ga Metallene Boosting Alkynol Semihydrogenation

Abstract
The electrochemical semihydrogenation (ECSH) of 2-methyl-3-butyn-2-ol (MBY) to 2-methyl-3-buten-2-ol (MBE), using water as a hydrogen source, offers a sustainable pathway for chemical synthesis. However, conventional Pd-based catalysts are limited by the linear scaling relationships (LSRs) between the adsorption energies of C≡C and C═C bonds, often leading to overhydrogenation into 2-methyl-3-butan-2-ol (MBA) and, thus, reduced selectivity toward MBE.
