Abstract
• A novel One-Side Uniaxial-Strain Inverse Finite Element Method specifically designed for wind turbine towers is proposed. • The method introduces a novel formulation of the error functional, thereby enabling flexible adaptation to uniaxial, biaxial, or triaxial strain measurement schemes. • This method can significantly reduce the number of sensors required and the installation complexity while maintaining good reconstruction accuracy. • This method also demonstrates good robustness under sparse sensor configurations and coarse grid conditions.
