Abstract

This item contains two related artifacts examining how modern socio-technical systems can retain surface coherence, confidence, and productivity after losing the constraints that once bound language, decision-making, and consequence.The first document, Early Signs of Constraint Loss, provides a practitioner-facing field guide for identifying observable signals of drift before failure becomes explicit. It focuses on patterns that emerge when systems remain functional but no longer self-correct.The second document, Confidence Without Constraint, defines a second-order failure regime that arises when feedback, incentives, compression, and stop-conditions decouple simultaneously.
