A synergistic experimental–theoretical study of radiation attenuation in locally manufactured Iraqi glasses

Abstract
In this context, we examine the physical, structural, and gamma-ray shielding properties of six Iraqi traditional glass samples (S1–S6). The elemental composition was analyzed using Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) while the Archimedes' principle were used for density measurement. In addition, gamma-ray attenuation tests were performed with an NaI(Tl) scintillation detector across photon energies of 60–662 keV.
