Abstract

This collection comprises nine synthesis papers developing and extending the gestational oxygen-timing hypothesis — a framework proposing that disruptions to fetal oxygen supply during specific developmental windows produce latent, multi-system injury through HIF-1α-mediated mechanisms, with particular focus on oligodendrocyte precursor cell (OPC) maturation arrest and consequent myelination-dependent sensory and autonomic phenotypes.
