Abstract

What is consciousness? What is spirit? Are they distinct substances, emergent properties, or thermodynamic necessities? Energy-Efficiency Theory (EET) provides a first-principles answer grounded in the v5.8 constitutional architecture: consciousness is the cross-level critical synchronization of constraints---the state in which multiple hierarchical levels of a constraint network achieve integer-ratio resonance at the critical point $\eta \approx 1$, enabling maximal global causal integration.
