Reviewability: A Conceptual Clarification within Criteriology

Abstract
This note presents a conceptual clarification of reviewability as an analytical concept within the criteriology framework. It defines reviewability as the extent to which the evaluative basis of a decision, including factual grounds and criteria, can be examined or reconstructed and distinguishes it from related concepts such as accountability, transparency, traceability, and explainability. The note situates reviewability in relation to criteria-lessness and recursive criteria-lessness and introduces a distinction between structural conditions, their analytical appearance, and their implications for the examination of decision-making processes.
