Luoshu Magic Square as an Optimal Projector in E8 Root System Geometry and Its Correspondence with SU(3) Gauge Structure

Abstract

We report three numerical findings regarding the Luoshu magic square (洛書) and its relationship to E8 root system geometry and SU(3) gauge theory. First, the Luoshu magic square achieves rank-0 (optimal) row-balance under E8 projection across five independent embedding methods, suggesting a deep geometric compatibility between the Luoshu structure and E8 symmetry. Second, the optimal projection angle from 8D to 3D is found to be approximately 84°, which coincides with known biological assembly angles (microtubule α/β dimer: 84°, collagen triple helix: 85°, β-turn Ca1-Ca4: 84°).
